Hello! I'm Geri Coady, a Canadian-British illustrator, designer and author based in Nottingham, England.

I've had a lifelong interest in Japan, and Geri Draws Japan is a personal project that brings together my love of Japanese culture, history, and tradition through illustration. My work draws inspiration from everything from food and everyday life, to traditional crafts and the fascinating world of Grand Sumo wrestling.

With a background in graphic design and print production, I've worked with clients around the world on projects spanning branding, editorial illustration and children's publishing. In recent years, my interest in Japan has also led to some wonderful creative opportunities, including exhibiting my artwork in Tokyo, studying traditional Japanese woodblock printing (mokuhanga), and designing textiles and kimono motifs for professional sumo wrestlers.

In this shop, you'll find a collection of art prints, stationery and other illustrated goods inspired by my travels, experiences and the many things I love about Japan. I'm always exploring new ideas and techniques, so there's usually something new in the works!

Outside of illustration, my interests include photography, travel, coffee culture, and studying Japanese. In 2017, I had the opportunity to appear on TV Tokyo's 「世界！ニッポン行きたい人応援団」 (Who Wants to Come to Japan?), where I travelled to Japan to learn more about traditional okonomiyaki.
